Mata Khivi's Sweet Kitchen
Mata Khivi, the wife of Guru Angad, lovingly looked after the langar, the free community kitchen, making sure everyone who came was warmly fed.
She was famous for her delicious creamy kheer, a sweet rice pudding, which she served generously to all — rich and poor, stranger and friend, every single day.
Her warm, generous kitchen is remembered with such love that her name is written in the Guru Granth Sahib itself. Feeding others, she showed, is holy work.
🌱 A thought to carry away
Feeding others with warmth and love is one of the kindest things we can do.
