The Well for Everyone

Knowing how hard the long, dusty roads could be, the Gurus encouraged the digging of wells and rest-houses along the way, free for any traveller to use.

No matter who came — of any faith, any background, rich or poor — they could draw cool water and rest in the shade, with no charge and no questions.

Caring for thirsty strangers on the road was, to the Gurus, a simple and beautiful way of serving God in everyone.
